HONOR THE KING | a mACBETH dATING sIMULATOR

Here are a few game assets, including the temporary logo used for “advertisement.” Only one of these character designs appears in the game footage, but I developed the four above to broaden the game’s scope. I also created expression sheets for easier access during the coding process, plus the body used in the clip.

Honor the King was a project I completed for my Creative Studio II final. We were tasked with using an existing public domain work and creating an animation or game concept from the domain of our choice. As you can see, I chose Macbeth. Inspired by games like The Arcana (Nix Hydra) and Love Nikki Dress Up Queen (Papergames), I created concept art and designs for the game and coded it in Python using Ren’Py, the same software used to create Doki Doki Literature Club (Team Salvato). I’ve been playing silly visual novel/dating simulators since I was a young teenager, and thought it would be a great way to both create my first game concept (however small) on my own and honor all of those games that had a hand in inspiring me to take on an art degree in the first place.
